If your health professional has advised you to, try to collect and store your colostrum
Colostrum can start leaking from your breasts in the last weeks of pregnancy. Even if this is not happening to you, you may be able to collect colostrum (just a few drops) by expressing your breasts by hand, for 10 minutes at a time, twice a day. Find out more information on expressing colostrum.
Collect the colostrum using a syringe or small sterile jar and keep it in the freezer. Bring it into the hospital (still frozen).
