For most mothers, mature breastmilk "comes in" on approximately the third day after the baby is born
We call milk "coming in" lactogenesis.
For mothers with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, lactogenesis can be delayed 24–48 hours, especially if your baby was born prematurely.
If you are worried, speak to the midwife or the lactation consultant and keep feeding your baby colostrum.
