You may need to breastfeed often for the first few days
It's important to keep feeding your baby frequently for the first few days, to maintain their blood glucose levels. Sometimes the hospital staff will advise you not to leave more that 3–4 hours between breastfeeds.
This frequent feeding is usually only required for a couple of days. It is exhausting but well worth persisting, to prevent low blood glucose levels in the baby.
